My love for anime began when I first laid my eyes on Sailor Moon’s Tuxedo Mask, also known as Darien Chiba, around the age of ten.
Before Tuxedo Mask, I was not very boy-crazy, and I didn’t know what it was like to feel attracted to a man or even to like anime.

However, that all changed after I was introduced to Darien for the first time. Eventually, as a young girl, I would go on to fantasize about the Sailor Moon cartoon character, Tuxedo Mask.
Silly, I know. It was that deep.
Foremost, if you were born in the late 80s like myself or even the early to mid 90s, you’ve probably heard of the anime Sailor Moon, which stars Tuxedo Mask. If you haven’t heard of it, please watch a few episodes.
Moreover, if you decide to watch a few episodes, you will learn that Sailor Moon has undeniably, influenced many American animations after its time, as well as culture. The anime is simply iconic.
Later on in the series, you are literally put under a trance for nearly a full minute, for each episode, as you watch Usagi transform into a freakin’ schoolgirl. “Are you serious?”, you are probably asking?
"Yes" I'd answer. These days we can barely manage to watch a YouTube video for a minute, so imagine how groundbreaking and captivating this anime is.

To summarize the anime series
It follows the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino, later revealed as Sailor Moon, as she searches for a magical artifact, the Legendary Silver Crystal. Sailor Moon’s love interest is Tuxedo Mask aka Darien Chiba.
Usagi eventually transitions into leading a group of comrades, the Sailor Scouts. The scouts battle fashionable villains to prevent the Crystal from being stolen and the destruction of the Solar System.
I say fashionable because I've always admired the outfits of the villains. I've always preferred their wardrobe compared to the Sailor Scouts.

Anyways…..
Anyways…..
Anyways…..
In closing, because of my crush on Tuxedo Mask, this is easily my top anime of all time.
At the age of 10, I recall seeing Tuxedo Mask as a gentleman, loyal, mysterious, heroic, funny, aloof, and kind. Since Tuxedo Mask, I’ve noticed a pattern, as I’ve always had a thing for stoic or detached men. Additonally, he inspired me to date oustside my race at an early age.
Tuxedo Mask is to blame for this. I guess I’ve always liked a challenge. In all honesty, Tuxedo Mask reminds me of a Gemini man, which is the sign of my fiance. However, Darien is a Leo, as his birthday falls on August 3. Interestingly, my fiance’s ascendant sign is Leo, and his moon is in Aries drools.
Was I the only 10 year old that had a mad crush on Darien?
